Shoe size calculator
What shoe size am I?
Type your foot length, or a size you already wear. You get your size in every system, your country’s first, and on each brand’s own chart, rounded up when you’re between two sizes.
Reading your result
Your size comes as a label, like the one on a shoebox: the system you shop in first, then the same foot in every other system. Below it, each brand’s own chart.
- The headline size is the first size long enough for your foot. A 26.2 cm foot is just over a men’s 8.5 (25.8 cm), so it gets a 9.
- Where your foot sits in that size: how far it is past the size below and how much room is left, with a note when it nearly fills the size or only just passed the one below.
- The brand list reads each brand’s own chart, by foot length where the brand gives one. Use the row for the brand you’re buying.
- Save or share it: saved sizes stay on this device, for the whole family.

Measure your foot in a minute
- 1Paper against a wall. Put a sheet on the floor, its short edge against the wall.
- 2Heel to the wall. Stand on it with your heel touching the wall, weight on that foot.
- 3Mark the longest toe. It isn’t always the big toe. Hold the pen upright.
- 4Measure to the mark from the wall edge. That’s your foot length.
Or skip the ruler: measure with your phone from one photo of your foot on the paper, or print a foot ruler. The measuring guide covers the mistakes that cost a size.
Which foot, and when
Measure both feet and use the longer one: most people’s feet differ a little. Measure later in the day, when feet are at their largest, and in the socks you’ll wear with the shoes. Stand: a foot carrying your weight is longer than one in the air.
Between two sizes
The calculator rounds up, so your size is never shorter than your foot. When your foot is just over a size, the result tells you which size it’s just over. On US and UK scales a half size is ⅙ inch (4.2 mm) of foot; an EU size is ⅔ cm (6.7 mm), so an EU half size is 3.3 mm.
Men’s, women’s, kids’ or unisex?
- Men’s
- US men’s sizes; UK and EU are the same for men and women. Men’s chart.
- Women’s
- US women’s sizes are 1½ above men’s for the same foot on the standard tables. Women’s chart.
- Kids
- C sizes from newborn, then Y (grade school) sizes, with the toddler, little kid or big kid band. Kids’ sizes.
- Unisex
- Both US numbers at once, as on labels like “M8 / W9.5”: the men’s size and the women’s size for the same foot.
Why the women’s number is higher, and when it isn’t: men’s vs women’s sizes. A child’s typical size at each age: kids’ sizes by age. What the letters on a label mean (C, Y, GS, M/W, D, 2E): the size glossary. Wide or narrow feet: the foot width calculator and the width chart.

Already know a size?
Switch the calculator to “A size I know” and type it: an EU 42, a UK 8, a women’s 9 or a 3Y. You get the foot length it fits and the same foot in every system and brand. The shoe size converter lists every conversion, and the shoe size chart shows them all on one page.
Questions
What shoe size am I with a 10 inch foot?
A men’s US 8 or a women’s US 9.5: a 10 inch foot is 25.4 cm, and a men’s 8 fits feet up to 25.4 cm (10.00 in). That’s UK 7 and EU 40.5. Type it above for each brand’s size.
How accurate is the calculator?
The sizes are exact for the standard tables: they come from each system’s formula, not from a rough chart. The bigger question is the brand: for a men’s US 9, brands’ own charts put the foot anywhere from 26.0 to 27.7 cm, so the result also gives your size on each brand’s chart.
Why is my size different in different brands?
Each brand sizes its own lasts, and some put women’s sizes 1 above men’s where the standard tables use 1½. The brand list in your result reads each brand’s own chart, so use the row for the brand you’re buying.
Does it work for kids?
Yes. Choose Kids for C and Y sizes with the toddler, little kid or big kid band: a 16.3 cm foot is a 9.5C, UK 9.5, EU 26.5, the length the median child’s foot reaches at about 4½ years. Kids’ feet grow fast, so measure every few months.
Do you store my foot length?
No. The calculator runs in your browser and sends nothing. If you save a size, it’s kept on this device only, and you can delete it.
Sizes from the standard formulas for each system (Wikipedia, “Shoe size”, checked 2026-10-23); brands’ sizes from their own charts; kids’ typical ages from the CPSC children’s survey. An estimate to help you choose: fit varies by brand and model. Not medical advice.
