No ruler? Print one.

A foot ruler for A4 or US Letter paper, for adults and kids. It has a 10 cm check line and a bank-card box, so you can confirm it printed at exactly the right size.

  1. Open the PDF and choose Actual size or 100% in the print settings. Turn off “Fit to page” and “Shrink to fit”.
  2. Measure the check line: it must be exactly 10 cm. No ruler? A bank card must fit the dashed box exactly.
  3. If either is off, print again with the scale at 100%.

Measure the foot

  1. Cut along the dashed line at the top and put the sheet on the floor, cut edge against the wall.
  2. Stand on it in the socks you’ll wear, heel touching the wall. For a child, gently hold the heel there.
  3. Mark the tip of the longest toe, read the length, and do the other foot too. Use the longer one.
  4. Adult foot longer than the first sheet? Cut the first sheet along its bottom dashed line and butt sheet 2 against it.

Type the length into the shoe size calculator to get your size in every system and brand.
